How do I apply for a vacancy through E-Doctors?

Are there fixed annual dates for vacancy announcements?

No. Vacancies are released throughout the year.

Do all documents need to be in English?

Yes. All documentation must be in English.

Can I apply with just my CV, without a full document set?

Contract & Salary

How long is the contract?

Contracts are typically one or two years, renewable.

Is the salary paid in US dollars?

No. Salaries are paid in Maldivian Rufiyaa (MVR).

What leave entitlements are included?

Work & Duties

What does a typical day look like for a General Practitioner?

8-hour working day, mainly outpatient clinics.

How does the workload differ for Specialist doctors?

Same 8-hour schedule, outpatient clinics and ward rounds.

Will I know my hospital or island assignment before arriving?

You will not know your assignment until you arrive and sign your contract.

Is there a licensing exam I need to sit?

Specialists: Skype interview only.

GPs: Provisional licence + MMDC exam within 6 months.
Family & Living

Can I bring my family from day one?

Yes — your family can travel on the same flight.

Is the Maldives a suitable place for children?

What is schooling like for children?

Can you find a job for my spouse too?

Fees & Finances

What are your service fees?
